The Challenge

Verbatim Court Reporters Inc., a renowned full-service court reporting firm in Gainesville, Fl needed a web presence that conveyed their professionalism, values and the qualities that distinguished their firm within their market. Their new site also needed to introduce their recent business expansion: the opening of an office in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and the expansion of their court reporting coverage to the entire State of Florida.

As Verbatim Court Reporters, Inc. is a technologically advanced firm offering a number of high-tech services, its web site had to project a high-technology feel, while remaining user-friendly and accessible.

The Strategy

Although professionally made, the preexisting site failed to represent the client's values. Its graphics did not illustrate the qualities that are the firm's trademark.

After a careful evaluation of the firm's goals, market and competitors, Xerpix Media identified the company's main values and planned to focus on them. Verbatim Court Reporters distinguished themselves from their competitors because they offered World-Class Service, Accuracy, Experience, Superior Professionalism, Integrity and a healthy determination to continue to meet their client's expectations.

The Result

The new interface is professional and clean, with the luster associated with a modern, professionally made web site but not "techie" as to intimidate users. It projects the image of a solid firm not only competent in their trade but capable of measuring up to the larger corporations in its industry.

The home page Flash animation displays the company's values: Experience, World-Class Service, Integrity, Accuracy. A number of graphics throughout the site, including the header, serve to illustrate these same values.

While keeping an emphasis on their local presence, the firm is presented as a statewide litigation support firm, abandoning the local-only concept.

The navigation is consistent and compliant to usability guidelines.

Overall, Verbatim Court Reporters' new site conveys the firms' professionalism, values and status and projects a modern feel while remaining user-friendly.

Subsequent to the redesign, for the first time Verbatim Court Reporters' web site is generating a steady stream of new business.
